Chris Moyles is a UK Radio and TV Legend!!

Born in Leeds on the 22nd Feb 1974, Chris began his prolific broadcasting career whilst still at school, first with Wakefield Hospital Radio, then Radio Aire (as well as working at Radio Top Shop!!) followed by moving to Europe in 1992 when he got his own show on the iconic station, Radio Luxembourg until the station closed.

He then had stints at Pulse, Signal 1 and Chiltern Radio Network before London beckoned and joining Capital FM where he had his own weekend evening show and covering for other DJs

Such was the impact of Chris on Capital, that in 1997, Radio 1 offered him a move across where he first hosted The Early Bit (early Breakfast!) and such was the impact, he won the Silver Sony Award in 1998 followed by a move to the Drive Time slot which he hosted from 1998 until 2004….

2004 was also the year Chris took over the earphones of Radio 1’s flagship Breakfast Show…such was the impact that, in the first 4months of broadcasting, he added over 1million listeners to the show.

In 2006 Chris won the GOLD Sony Award for the Best Entertainment Show and was broadcasting to over 10million listeners. He added another Gold Sony Award in 2008 with Best Breakfast Show. Hosting the Radio 1 Breakfast Show from 2004-2012 means that Chris is the ‘Longest Serving Breakfast Presenter’ on Radio 1 (overtaking Tony Blackburn’s record).

In 2015 Chris joined the newly rebranded Radio X to host their breakfast show. The Chris Moyles Show (and the station!) has just celebrated its 10th Year of Broadcasting in 2025.

As well as Radio, Chris has had an epic TV Career – in 2002 he presented Live with Chris Moyles, a five nights a week chat show on Channel 5; hosted FIVE series of the hit show Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night for Channel 4, presented numerous episodes of E4’s Big Brothers Big Mouth as well as being a regular host on BBC1s Top of the Pops and in 2022  travelled to Australia for I’m A Celebrity!

In 2009 Chris took on the mammoth Comic Relief Challenge when he joined the likes of Gary Barlow, Ben Shephard, Cheryl Cole and Fearne Cotton to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Continuing his fundraising for the charity, in 2011 Chris entered the Guiness Book of World Records for the Longest  Show Ever by Broadcasting for a continue 52 hours all for Comic Relief!!

In addition to his Broadcasting career, Chris is has released The Parody Album (2009) and The Difficult Second Album (2012) as well as publishing his autobiography The Gospel According to Chris Moyles (2006) and also Chris Moyles: The Difficult Second Book (2007) and also played the part of King Herod in the Arena tour of Andrew Lloyd Webbers Jesus Christ Superstar alongside Mel C and Tim Minchin (2012-2013) as well as touring the UK with his own live tour! January 2026 saw Chris fulfil a life ambition when he will perform TWO sellout nights at the London Palladium…watch this space for more!!
